Yusuke Takamiya, Partner, Mori Hamada & Matsumoto
Yusuke Takamiya is an antitrust partner at Mori Hamada & Matsumoto; the International Competition Network?s non-governmental adviser to the JFTC; and former researcher at the Competition Policy Research Centre of the JFTC. Mr Takamiya provides a wide range of legal advice on antitrust/competition laws such as merger controls, cartel/leniency matters, unilateral conducts and unfair trade practices. Mr Takamiya also has significant expertise on cases requiring multilateral responses (eg, the EU, the US and China), and regularly collaborates with major international law firms around the world.
Mr Takamiya not only advises on clients? issues with the antitrust/competition authorities, but is also involved in consultation relating to clients? compliance with antitrust/competition laws. In addition to traditional antitrust/competition law issues, Mr Takamiya energetically engages in the analysis and examination of legal issues under antitrust/competition laws when companies start brand-new business.
Mr Takamiya has significant expertise in international antitrust/competition laws and policies. With regard to US antitrust law, he also has experience of serving as a research assistant to Professor Eleanor M Fox, as an international attorney at the Washington, DC office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, and as an international competition consultant at the Federal Trade Commission. He also has a postgraduate diploma European competition law from King?s College London. Mr. Takamiya has been listed in "40 under 40" for 2020 published by GCR (Global Competition Review) as the only Japanese winner.
With his broad background, Mr Takamiya also provides advices on emerging competition law issues such as digital competition and cross over field of IP and competition.
