Stefano D'Armento is a PhD candidate in Urban Planning, Design, and Policy at the Polytechnic University of Milan, where he graduated as an architect.
He spent part of his university career abroad, studying in Spain and Brazil, and then worked in several architecture firms and real estate companies in Spain, the U.S.A., and Italy.
His research interests vary from territorial development to urban transformations, in particular he has been investigating the transformation of former industrial areas in Milan into lofts.
His PhD research focuses on the impact of tourism in the revitalization of peripheral rural areas, using as a case-study the province of Matera, in Southern Italy.
